CLAREMORE WALMART-SUPERCENTER PRESENTS OTEMS WITH GRANT

Claremore, OK, November 13, 2006 – every day our communities are made safer by the individuals who serve on local law enforcement, fire, rescue and EMS teams.  In support of these courageous men and women, the Claremore Wal-Mart Superscenter presented OTEMS with a $1,000.00 grant that will be used to purchase computers. The computers will be placed in both OTEMS Ambulance stations for the purpose of monitoring the recently implemented EMSystem, which is a real-time web-based network that allows emergency personnel to monitor area hospital and air medical agency status.

The grant is one of thousands that will be provided this month by Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, and distribution facilities nationwide.  More than $8 million will be awarded to emergency response organizations, local law enforcement, and safety organizations as part of Wal-Mart’s “Safe Neighborhood Heroes” grant, provided each year since 2001. the funding from this award has helped to support initiatives such as neighborhood watch programs, children’s fire safety programs, bulletproof vests, video cameras, GPS devices, emergency and life saving equipment.

“These men and women that serve our communities every day are our neighborhood heroes because of their courage and tireless commitment ot keep us safe, whether by individual acts of bravery or by daily attention to public safety.” Said Wal-Mart Supercenter Store Manager Lindel Stephens.  “We are proud to support the OTEMS District in return for everything they do to help our community”.
